BA/BS in Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition Services

Nutrition and Dietetics is an undergraduate major in the family and consumer sciences department, awarded as a BA or BS. Graduates enter fields such as foodservice, wellness, consulting, communication, health care and community health. The major also readies students to apply to a combined four-plus-one master's route in dietetics, which leads to a master's degree and a path toward becoming a registered dietitian nutritionist. They may alternatively choose another accredited graduate program. Bradley Core Curriculum requirements apply to all baccalaureate candidates, and they stress eight areas of inquiry. Some courses required for the major count toward those core requirements, and students choose remaining core courses and electives with their advisor. The major itself includes a family and consumer sciences core with courses such as family dynamics, strategies for life and introduction to research methods.
