This certificate prepares students for two vendor-neutral industry certifications, A+ and Network+. Graduates have skills for roles such as PC support technician, help desk technician and PC installer. Courses cover operating systems, networking, maintaining the PC and networking devices, plus interpersonal communication. Students learn to set up, service and diagnose problems in both software and hardware. Equipment purchases may be needed, and an advisor helps plan the course sequence. The program sits within the School of STEM at Bucks County Community College, and totals 20 credit hours. Students who want to move on to a degree should speak with an advisor about how the certificate courses fit into their longer plans. Prospective students can ask the school office for questions about scheduling, course prerequisites and how the program fits their goals.
