Cert in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications

This certificate readies students for roles such as network technician, network administrator and sales support. Graduates install, maintain and troubleshoot network hardware and software. They also configure and run a user's network setup, from shared files to printers, and draft a security plan using up-to-date operating systems and protocols. The coursework may prepare students to sit for industry exams from vendors such as Microsoft, Cisco and CompTIA. Each student plans a course sequence with an assigned advisor. The program sits within the School of STEM at Bucks County Community College, and totals 36 credit hours. Students who want to move on to a degree should speak with an advisor about how the certificate courses fit into their longer plans. Prospective students can ask the school office for questions about scheduling, course prerequisites and how the program fits their goals.
