AA/AS in Legal Support Services

The Legal Studies program prepares students to enter the paralegal profession. It builds understanding of legal theory and strengthens analytical thinking, communication, and adaptability. Study includes ethics, research and writing for legal work, and areas of civil law such as torts, contracts, and real estate. The program is delivered entirely online, and prospective students may contact the program instructor with questions. Graduates work in law offices, government agencies, and non-profit groups. Georgia law bars paralegals from practicing law on their own, so they work under an attorney's direction. Students can choose an associate degree or a diploma. Prospective students should compare both credential options before applying. A podcast transcript, salary information, and advisor contacts at the Marietta campus are listed on the program page.
