BA/BS in History

History is a Bachelor of Arts in the College of Arts and Humanities. The university sits in Virginia's Historic Triangle, one of the most significant regions in the country. Small classes taught by faculty stress research, analysis, and communication. Students are promised an internship, can study abroad, and do research in national archives, earning funding and credit for these experiences. The major requires core courses in ancient and medieval history and other periods, followed by electives. A minor is available to students in other majors. The program is delivered on the Christopher Newport University campus in Newport News, Virginia, where students work closely with faculty.
