AA/AS in Fire Protection

Fire Protection Technology prepares students for careers including firefighting, arson investigation, hazardous materials work and safety inspection. It suits both newcomers and people who want specialty skills for public service work. Workforce training, credit certificates and an associate degree are available at El Centro. The college estimates associate tuition at $5,940 for county residents who attend full time over two years. Most required books, software and supplies are built into that price, although some programs add further costs. Prerequisites are not counted in the estimate, and a given credential may not start at every campus every semester. Prospective students can request more information from the college, and an advisor can help match a credential to their goals and timeline.
