The Theatre Arts Associate in Arts Degree, part of the Fine Arts division at Fullerton College, gives students basic theatrical knowledge and academic skills for transfer to a four-year college or university or for careers in theatre production, film and television, theme parks, education, and management.
The curriculum combines theatre history and appreciation with technical theatre study and restricted electives in areas such as costume design and construction, stage makeup, entertainment drafting, and theatre management. Students choose from lists of courses within each section, so they can shape the technical side of the degree around their interests.
Career paths include acting, directing, playwriting, stage management, education, design in costume, lighting, makeup, scenic, and sound, and technical work in lighting, sound, stagehand, and wardrobe roles. The degree takes 21.5-32 units, alongside the college's other graduation requirements.
