AA/AS in Mathematics

Gavilan College's Mathematics program provides instruction at both developmental and transfer levels, giving students a place to build skills regardless of where they start. Students can prepare in three ways: completing an associate degree, getting ready to move on to a university, or building the foundation needed for further degrees in mathematics, science, and engineering. The faculty aim to teach rigorously while staying responsive to the needs of a diverse student body. Support resources include a math lab and a collection of online math resources, and the department site links to current course listings as well as degree and certificate information for those planning a major. Students who are unsure of their placement can start by visiting the math lab or asking a counselor.
