The Multidisciplinary Studies major at Indiana State lets a student assemble a degree that crosses several fields instead of sitting inside one department. Subjects can come across the liberal arts, health fields, education, business and science.
Students work with an advisor to build an individualized plan of study, or they choose a designated concentration such as Gender Studies, International Studies, Social Justice and Sociology, or Visual Arts Administration. A Liberal Arts track with a business minor is also listed.
The major suits first-year students with no prior college work, sophomores and juniors who want a second major or a change of direction, and adult learners bringing earlier credits. It is awarded as either a BA or a BS.
The program is meant for highly motivated students who want flexibility together with the chance for focused study, rather than the structure of a conventional double major.
