Overview
Kennesaw State's Ph.D. in Data Science and Analytics began in 2015 and sits where computing, statistics, math and business meet. Students choose a concentration in computer science, statistics or mHealth and do research with faculty from across the university's colleges.
This is a full-time classroom doctorate built around project-based work, research, teaching and internships or practicums. Students follow either a research model or a practitioner model, depending on their career aims, and receive a research stipend toward living costs.
Applicants need a graduate application, transcripts, GRE scores, completed math coursework through second-semester calculus, working skill in an analytical programming language, and a statement of purpose describing career goals. Entry is in the fall, and classes meet in person. The doctorate aims to produce researchers, educators and leaders who care about ethics and fairness in the discipline.
