Program details

Overview

Communication studies at Montgomery College explores the everyday social processes through which people produce and pass along meaning and information. Students can join research projects and internships that give practical grounding to what they learn in class. The associate of arts is designed to bend around individual plans. Learners can finish the two-year credential and, in the same stretch, satisfy many of the introductory general education requirements needed to continue toward a bachelor's degree elsewhere. The department also runs a z-degree track. Under that arrangement, the college schedules sections covering every course the degree requires so that nobody has to buy a textbook, and eligible sections can be located by searching the class schedule for the Z Courses attribute.
