Cert in Social Work

San Antonio College awards a Level II certificate in case management within social work. The credential totals thirty hours and can be taken online or on campus, and it gives learners practical case management skills they can start using right away. The certificate also serves people already working in or studying psychology, criminal justice, sociology and related areas who want additional career training. The wider program prepares students for careers in human services and counseling, and students can continue by moving into a four-year degree. Instructors are practicing social workers. The college explains that the national social work education council does not accredit two-year programs, yet it aligns the curriculum with that body's standards. Social workers are employed in agencies, schools, hospitals, clinics, senior centers, private practice and the justice system.
