Cert in Social Work

This undergraduate certificate builds specialized knowledge of addiction for social work students who plan to enter the workforce or graduate study. It prepares them to work in substance abuse settings, with emphasis on prevention, intervention and evaluation. The plan of study spans two semesters and combines practice and pharmacology courses with two addiction-focused practicum placements. Eligible students are social work majors, admitted Bachelor of Social Work students, or those who already hold the BSW. They need a 2.5 university average and a 3.0 in social work courses, and applications are considered twice a year.
