AA/AS in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications

Students who like working with computers and want to build a career around connecting them will find a good fit in this two-year Associate in Science track in networking at South Florida State College. It totals sixty credits and is designed to move learners from basic computer concepts toward hands-on network work. The first year pairs introductory classes in computer fundamentals and networking with industry credentials, including CompTIA A+ and Network+. That arrangement lets learners study for professional exams while they complete degree requirements. A security concentration is also listed for those who want to specialize. Graduates look toward positions in network engineering, system administration, security analysis, cloud engineering, IT support and help desk work. The college notes that a good number of these jobs allow remote work. Enrolled students and seniors still in high school who want to sign up, or who are interested in the Emerge Scholarship, can reach the program advisor by phone. The coursework sits within the information technology department.
