Overview
The Bachelor of Arts in geography at Syracuse is offered in person by the Maxwell School. It examines urban dynamics, environmental issues past and present, environmental science, cultural politics and globalization.
Students learn to spot worldwide political and economic patterns, compare cultures and institutions, and apply research tools and analytical and presentation techniques to interpret current issues.
The major combines three introductory courses, an advanced techniques course and six advanced courses within one of several tracks. It pairs well with a second degree in areas such as other social sciences, communications or engineering, and students may use Maxwell-in-Washington and study abroad.
This major is taught in person within the Maxwell School, which houses undergraduate social science programs together with policy and international affairs study. Students interested in the program can request information or apply through the university website.
