MA/MS in Landscape Architecture

The graduate program in landscape architecture is designed for applicants with differing backgrounds, and students follow one of four tracks depending on their prior education. The page centers on the Master of Landscape Architecture. The First Professional MLA is for those without an accredited professional degree in the field. It begins with a summer term that builds analytical, design and graphic skills, then continues with a two-semester sequence on applied landscape design, planning theory and landscape construction. The Advanced Graduate Studies track is for students who finished the first professional sequence or who arrive with an accredited professional bachelor's degree, and it consists of two years of advanced coursework. Those with a non-accredited degree may need extra courses to develop core competencies. A research degree track lets experienced, accredited graduates tailor a program of advanced study to their own needs.
