BA/BS in Data Analytics

The data science major blends computer science, statistics and field-specific knowledge so graduates can turn data into sound decisions and creative solutions. Students learn through lectures, practical projects and applications drawn from industry. Everyone completes a large core of courses, starting with introductory analytics and business data analytics. Students must then choose at least one concentration, such as health informatics or emergency management and disaster science. A concentration can also count toward a certificate or minor. Students may select several concentrations to shape the degree around their own interests, linking data skills to the area where they hope to work. The number of required hours varies with the concentrations selected, and the total sits inside a bachelor's degree of at least 120 hours.
