BA/BS in Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies, Other

Neuroscience investigates how the brain and nervous system are structured and how they work. It is a fast-growing science that overlaps with many other scientific fields. The major starts with demanding foundation courses and labs, then advances to more specialized classes, so every student learns the full scope of the subject. Each student eventually picks a concentration in systems, behavioral or computational neuroscience. These act as pipelines into different careers and graduate options. The systems track can lead to graduate neuroscience study, clinical psychopharmacology or work in the pharmaceutical industry, and with extra courses it can double as a pre-health path toward medical school applications. The program requires between sixty-four and seventy hours depending on the track, including a core of basic science courses. A research course must be taken twice to meet the major's requirements.
