BA/BS in Political Science and Government

Political science at Wright State covers American government, relations among nations, comparative politics, and the theory and philosophy behind political life. The degree awarded is a bachelor of arts, and students are expected to develop into capable writers who can produce analytical work about both domestic and global questions. The program lists law, teaching at the secondary and college levels, applied research, journalism, and government or community service among the directions graduates can take. Students in other majors may choose a political science minor. The department also offers add-on credentials, including an undergraduate and a graduate foreign service certificate, as well as undergraduate and graduate microcredentials in unconventional war. Combined options let a political science major move toward a master's degree, either in public administration or in international and comparative politics.
