Overview
Middlesex University is a public university based in north London, with its main campus at The Burroughs in Hendon and further campuses in Dubai and Mauritius.
Its roots trace to St Katherine's College, founded in 1878 as one of Britain's first teacher-training institutions; that college's successors merged in 1973 to form Middlesex Polytechnic, which became Middlesex University in 1992. The university now teaches more than 36,000 students and apprentices from over 140 countries, organised into four faculties spanning the creative and performing arts, business and law, health and social care, and science and technology.
It has particularly strong links to the NHS, with students completing hundreds of thousands of hours on health placements, and it works with more than 1,000 industry and employer partners on research and student projects.
