Master of Computer Science is a master's degree in Computer Sciences programme offered by Algoma University in Sault Ste. Marie, Canada. The programme runs for 12 months. Tuition for international students is CAD 8,500 per semester (CAD 3,025 per semester for local students).
Algoma University's Master of Computer Science is a course-based, twelve-month graduate program without a thesis component, offered at the Sault Ste. Marie and Brampton campuses. Students admitted before Fall 2026 complete eight required and two elective courses; from Fall 2026, the structure shifts to six required and four elective courses. The curriculum covers software engineering, cybersecurity, software systems, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and information technology, with required courses such as data analysis with Python, advanced software engineering, cloud computing, and machine learning, and electives spanning robotics, database systems, cryptography, and neural networks. The program does not include a work-placement component. It suits bachelor's graduates in computer science, information technology, or related fields who want to deepen their technical expertise quickly rather than pursue a research-based master's degree. Graduates are positioned for roles in software development, cybersecurity, data analytics, and artificial intelligence, fields the program identifies as being in high demand.
