Overview
The Master of Global Business and Economy (MGBE) is a two-year, course-based graduate program at Algoma University, which describes itself as the first Canadian university to offer the credential. Delivered full-time across four semesters (Fall and Winter intakes, with no spring semester), the curriculum builds critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills for global business and economic analysis, progressing from data-collection methods in the first term through advanced research methodologies in the second, and culminating in a Major Research Project capstone that applies coursework to industry challenges. The program comprises ten courses for 2025 Fall and 2026 Winter admits, rising to eleven courses from Fall 2026 onward, each worth three credits, and is offered at the Brampton and Sault Ste. Marie campuses. Graduates pursue careers in policy analysis, business consulting, research analysis, and investment banking.
