Trades - Apprenticeship in Commercial Vehicle and Equipment - Apprenticeship

This 8-week, in-school apprenticeship program serves four motive power trades: truck and coach technician, farm equipment mechanic, heavy-duty equipment mechanic, and powered lift truck technician. Through a mix of classroom theory (roughly 60 percent of class time) and hands-on shop work (roughly 40 percent), it covers engine systems, fluid power, electrical systems, fuel systems, drivetrain systems, wheel end assemblies, and brake systems for commercial and off-road vehicles and equipment. Admission requires applicants to be formally registered apprentices released by their sponsoring employer to attend the college, with eligibility determined by Ontario's Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development; applicants must already be employed in the trade and hold a valid Offer of Classroom Training from the Ministry. Graduates are not eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit.
