Overview

Office Administration at Aurora College is offered as a one-year certificate or a two-year diploma, available full-time or part-time, and delivered across the Aurora Campus in Inuvik, the Thebacha Campus in Fort Smith, the Yellowknife North Slave Campus, and through distance delivery. Roughly a third of coursework is delivered face-to-face, with the remainder taught through video conferencing. The certificate builds knowledge and skills for administrative careers in business, government, and non-profit organizations, with emphasis on practical use of computer technology in the contemporary office; certificate students also complete a practicum. The diploma builds on the certificate with further specialized coursework in human resources, payroll, and finance administration. Certificate graduates are prepared for entry-level administrative assistant roles, while diploma graduates are prepared for executive administrative assistant positions. Diploma graduates are also eligible to progress into Aurora College's Business Administration program. The program suits students seeking administrative careers with defined pathways toward more specialized or advanced roles.
