Overview

This program leads to a Bachelor of Arts in English and Film Studies, completed in either a three-year or four-year format, delivered in hybrid mode at the Winnipeg campus, available full-time or part-time with Fall and Winter intakes and open to international students on a study permit. The curriculum combines a general education core with discipline courses such as Literary Theory and Selected Themes in English Literature, a capstone project for four-year students, and electives spanning British, American, and Canadian literature across historical periods; a Film Studies stream adds courses on film adaptation, genre, film theory, and film history, alongside subjects such as Mass Media and Society and Trauma Literature. The program suits students aiming for careers in writing, publishing, media, public relations, teaching, or the film industry, and it also prepares students for graduate study in English literature or professional programs in law, journalism, library sciences, or education.
