Overview
This program leads to a Certificate of Christian Studies, a one-year credential delivered in hybrid format at the Winnipeg campus, available full-time or part-time with Fall and Winter intakes and open to international students requiring a study permit. Coursework includes an introduction to Christianity, university-level writing, a block of religion courses, and courses in the behavioural sciences drawing on psychology and sociology. Through this coursework students learn to articulate core concepts of the Christian faith, examine Christian traditions and practices, and evaluate sources used in studying Christianity, including how faith, church, and scripture function as resources for justice, truth, and reconciliation. Housed within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the program is open to people from a variety of backgrounds and suits those wanting to deepen their knowledge of the Bible, theology, and principles of Christian service without committing to a full degree program.
