Education Assistant Certificate

The Education Assistant Certificate prepares students to support children and teens with diverse learning needs in classroom settings. The programme uses a competency-based education model with flexible learning pathways, allowing students to progress as they demonstrate skill mastery. Coursework covers strategies for supporting students with behavioural, cognitive, and physical exceptionalities, alongside classroom management and collaboration with teaching staff. A seven-week practicum placement in a school setting provides direct, supervised experience applying these skills. The certificate is completed over two terms, equivalent to one academic year. International students are required to attend classes in person to maintain full-time status and meet study-permit requirements. Graduates are prepared for entry-level education assistant roles supporting students in inclusive classroom environments, working alongside teachers and other school staff.
