Path2Practice for IENs is a Certificate of Achievement from the School of Health and Wellness that helps internationally educated nurses bridge their qualifications and clinical experience to the healthcare standards and work requirements applicable in Alberta. The program runs for one term and is intended for Canadian citizens, permanent residents, refugees or protected persons, and eligible work permit holders who hold a nursing degree considered equivalent to the Canadian standard and who have practiced nursing within the last five to seven years. Licensed practical nurses in the cohort hold an active LPN licence together with a bachelor's degree or diploma in nursing equivalent to a Canadian BSc Nursing credential. Candidates are expected to have been assessed by the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta, with NCLEX certification preferred but not mandatory. The program supports transition into Alberta's regulated nursing workforce through structured bridging preparation.
