This certificate builds the knowledge, critical thinking, and technical skills needed to move into supervisory roles within a current employer in the North American lumber sector, aimed at new employees without an industrial wood processing background or anyone in the field without formal training. Coursework covers lumber fundamentals, sawmill technology, wood processing tools, and quality control.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Entry to the Industrial Wood Processing Associate Certificate is limited to applicants already employed in the North American lumber sector; the program is designed for current industry employees enrolling with their employer's support, and applications are submitted by the employer sponsor to BCIT's SOCE Industry Services department rather than through the standard admissions process. BCIT recommends English 10 and Math 10 as useful preparation and offers an optional WOOD 0100 – Industrial Wood Processing Math Refresher Course for applicants uncertain of their foundational skills, but states no mandatory grade thresholds, standardized English test score, portfolio, interview, age condition, criminal record check or immunization requirement. The program is not available to international students.

Admission is not institute-wide rolling, but many programs work first-qualified-first-accepted and can fill before the posted deadline, and several programs, mostly in Health Sciences, trades and graduate studies, run entirely separate application tables of their own. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
