Nuclear Medicine Diploma

Admission Requirements: BCIT states this program is not available to international students, so the requirements below apply to domestic applicants only. Entry has two steps. STEP 1: English Studies 12 at 73% or equivalent (Category 1); one of Pre-Calculus 12, MATH 0001 Technical Mathematics, MATH 0120 Math 12 Competency Test, or post-secondary mathematics at 100 level or above, each at 73%; one of Anatomy and Physiology 12, BHSC 0110 Foundational Human Anatomy and Physiology, BHSC 0100 Human Biology, or post-secondary human biology, each at 73%; one of Chemistry 12, CHEM 0120 Chemistry 12 Challenge Exam, or post-secondary chemistry, each at 73%; and one of Physics 11, PHYS 0309 Pre-Entry Physics 1, or PHYS 0110 Physics 11 Challenge Exam, each at 73%. The Applicant Acknowledgement of Requirements and the mandatory Applicant Questionnaire are submitted with the application. STEP 2 — on conditional acceptance: NMED 0150 Medical Terminology for Nuclear Medicine at 80%; CPR Level C; a criminal record check; a mandatory immunisation review; consent for the use and disclosure of student information; and a volunteer validation or workplace reference letter covering at least 30 hours of work. Before clinical practicum, N95 respirator fit testing to CSA CAN/CSA-Z94.4-02 is required, re-fitted annually at roughly CAD 25 a year.
