Public Health at Brock University leads to a Bachelor of Public Health (BPH), Canada's first such degree, offered by the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences. The program addresses individual, community and population health, covering emerging issues such as mental health, infectious diseases and health disparities, and examines how health promotion, administration and policy can improve health locally and globally. Courses reflect the multi-disciplinary nature of health, exploring biological, mental, social and environmental determinants, and prepare graduates to meet Canada's core competencies for public health practitioners. The program is delivered face-to-face over four years full-time and includes co-op, experiential learning, international opportunities, and a Med Plus pathway. Graduates pursue careers as public health physicians, epidemiologists, biostatisticians, public health nurses, and health educators.
