Brock University's Bachelor of Arts in Women's and Gender Studies, offered through the Faculty of Social Sciences, examines how social constructions of gender shape the lives and consciousness of women and men across race, ethnicity, class, and sexuality. The program draws methodological tools from across the disciplines to study gender in relation to institutions, ideologies, histories, cultural artifacts, social interactions, science, bodies, and cultures, with a focus on transnational feminist perspectives on how gender intersects with other variables to shape lived experience. Courses are open to all Brock students. A minor and a certificate in Women's and Gender Studies are also available alongside the major. Career paths include family law, social work, family medicine, leadership of women's organizations, and human rights work. The degree is a four-year program based at Brock's Niagara Region campus in St. Catharines, Ontario.
