Overview

Delivered online, this diploma builds programming skills centred on Internet of Things technologies, connecting hardware, software, and cloud systems. The curriculum covers coding and solution development as well as designing smart devices linked to cloud platforms, applying artificial intelligence, data analytics, current IoT hardware, and cloud computing tools to build intelligent systems. Students explore how networks of connected devices share and respond to real-time information, finishing with a capstone project.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Cambrian's page for Computer Programming – Internet of Things sets subject-level prerequisites on top of its general OSSD entry route: a 30-credit Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, or mature student status, plus grade 12 English at the College (C) or University (U) level and grade 12 mathematics at the C or U level with a minimum 60% in that mathematics prerequisite course. International applicants are told the program carries additional requirements and are directed to Cambrian's international admissions page; there, the institution-wide English Language Proficiency Requirement sets the Diploma/Certificate tier at IELTS Academic 6.0 with no band below 5.5, TOEFL iBT 80 (550 paper-based), PTE Academic 58, or Duolingo English Test 105-115. No portfolio, interview or work-experience condition is stated, and applicants short of the math or English prerequisite can use Cambrian's free Academic Upgrading before enrolling.

Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca: for programmes starting September 2027 the application opens 26 September 2026 and the equal-consideration date is 1 February 2027, after which applications are assessed first-come, first-served while seats remain. Cambrian's own 2026-27 Academic Schedule A separately sets a Day-3 last-day-to-apply cut-off for every program each term - 13 January 2027 for the January 2027 intake and 12 May 2027 for the May 2027 intake - with transcripts in hand and the non-refundable deposit ready before Day 5. International applicants apply through the OCAS International Application Service (up to three Cambrian programmes) or an authorised agent and are reviewed individually; Cambrian publishes no fixed international closing date. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
