This three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma program develops animation skills in two foundational years before students specialize in either 2D or 3D animation in the third year. Instruction covers the twelve principles of animation and gives students access to industry-standard animation software and hardware. Coursework builds toward final capstone projects intended to prepare graduates for careers in television, games, film, and advertising. The program runs over six semesters and is delivered on campus on a full-time basis, with a new intake scheduled for September. Admission requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (30 credits) or equivalent, including any Grade 12 English (College or University level), or mature student status; Grade 11 or 12 visual arts or media arts credits are recommended. A mandatory portfolio is required as part of admission, consisting of life studies, character design sheets, perspective drawings, and six to ten personal artwork samples.
