Upgrade your impact by supporting those with learning disabilities  Whether you’re a new graduate or a professional currently working in academic support, this fully online program elevates your ability to work with students with learning disabilities. Diversify your professional portfolio and bolster your employment options by examining and applying proven support strategies and learning techniques.    Combine the use of assistive technology, learning strategies, and appropriate accommodations to explore the impact you can have in supporting those with learning disabilities, autism, and co-existing conditions. You’ll develop valuable communication skills for building solid interpersonal relationships with those you support, gain insight into how to gather and retain private information, and how to share your skills within your professional community. 

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Admission requires one of two routes: graduation from a diploma, advanced diploma or degree program at an Ontario college or equivalent institution, or five years of work experience in a related field (or a combination of education and work experience judged equivalent by the College), supported by a resume and cover letter outlining relevant competencies; all post-secondary transcripts must still be submitted regardless of route. The programme page publishes no English-language test score; as a postgraduate certificate, its applicable international minimums under Cambrian's own English requirements table are IELTS Academic 6.5 with no band below 6.0, TOEFL iBT 84, PTE Academic 61, or Duolingo 120 or higher. No portfolio, interview, immunisation or criminal-record-check condition is stated. Delivery requires a Windows 10 or later, or macOS, computer with internet access, a webcam and a headset; a Windows-based computer is recommended for the programme's specialised assistive-technology software.

Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca: for programmes starting September 2027 the application opens 26 September 2026 and the equal-consideration date is 1 February 2027, after which applications are assessed first-come, first-served while seats remain. Cambrian's own 2026-27 Academic Schedule A separately sets a Day-3 last-day-to-apply cut-off for every program each term - 13 January 2027 for the January 2027 intake and 12 May 2027 for the May 2027 intake - with transcripts in hand and the non-refundable deposit ready before Day 5. International applicants apply through the OCAS International Application Service (up to three Cambrian programmes) or an authorised agent and are reviewed individually; Cambrian publishes no fixed international closing date. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
