Overview

Explore a future of creative possibilities Take your talent and love for the arts to new heights as you gain confidence in your artistic journey building a solid foundation in creative art and design. You will experiment with a rich and diverse cross-section of media and concepts, including drawing, 2D and 3D design, illustration, applied multimedia, and creative and conceptual problem solving. Surrounded by like-minded creatives, you will learn to apply critical thinking skills to produce solutions to the varied challenges creative industries present, as well as developing your visual sensitivity and artistic dexterity.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Admission requires the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (30 credits) or equivalent, or mature-student standing, plus Grade 12 English at the College (C) or University (U) level. The programme page states explicitly that there is no portfolio requirement for admission, and it publishes no English-language test score; the programme page also states it is currently not available to international students, so no international English minimum applies to it at present. No interview, work-experience, criminal-record-check or immunisation condition is stated. Applicants missing the English prerequisite can use Cambrian's free Academic Upgrading before applying.

Application Deadline: Domestic applicants apply through ontariocolleges.ca: for programmes starting September 2027 the application opens 26 September 2026 and the equal-consideration date is 1 February 2027, after which applications are assessed first-come, first-served while seats remain. Cambrian's own 2026-27 Academic Schedule A separately sets a Day-3 last-day-to-apply cut-off for every program each term - 13 January 2027 for the January 2027 intake and 12 May 2027 for the May 2027 intake - with transcripts in hand and the non-refundable deposit ready before Day 5. International applicants apply through the OCAS International Application Service (up to three Cambrian programmes) or an authorised agent and are reviewed individually; Cambrian publishes no fixed international closing date. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
