Overview
Economics at the University of Regina, offered through Campion College together with the University of Regina, First Nations University of Canada, and Luther College, is available as a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science, each with an Honours option, completed over four years, alongside a separate one- to two-year Certificate in Economics. The curriculum covers microeconomics and macroeconomics and applies them to topics such as government policy, Canadian agriculture, and environmental economics, building skills in analytical reasoning, data analysis, and financial literacy for real-world policy and business questions. Students can pursue cooperative education placements in public, private, and not-for-profit organizations, along with study-abroad options. Combined majors are available with business administration, geography, history, or statistics. The department also runs a Tutorial Centre supporting foundational courses and an Economics Student Association offering mentorship. The program suits students seeking quantitative training applicable to government, banking, and finance careers.

Admission Requirements: The Economics program page states no admission requirements of its own and directs applicants to the Faculty of Arts admission guide, which for the Economics major specifically requires Pre-Calculus 30 or Foundations of Math 30 among the approved courses. For Saskatchewan high school applicants, final admission otherwise needs a 70% admission average across English Language Arts A30, two further approved 30-level courses, and one additional approved 30-level course; applicants averaging 60-69.99% are admitted instead to the Arts Qualifying Year. International and other applicants must also meet the university's English language proficiency requirement, satisfied by an IELTS Academic overall band of 6.5 (no band below 6.0), a TOEFL iBT (1-6 scale) overall score of 4.5 with each of Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing at least 4, a PTE Academic score of 59 (no area below 59), a Duolingo English Test score of 120, or a CAEL score of 60, unless prior education was completed in English.
