Program details

Overview

This program leads to a Bachelor of Commerce with a concentration in Management, delivered on campus in Ottawa through the Sprott School of Business. Coursework focuses on managing and understanding people and their working relationships at the individual, group, and organizational levels, covering areas such as organizational behaviour, human resources, and leadership. A co-op option lets students alternate academic terms with paid work terms, building professional experience and networking contacts before graduation. All Sprott students take part in the Employability Passport, a four-year career development stream that runs alongside the academic program and includes access to a dedicated job portal and career services for business students. The Management concentration suits students aiming for roles in human resources, general management, consulting, or operations, and it can be combined with a second concentration within the Bachelor of Commerce degree structure. Graduates leave with both a business credential and documented career-readiness experience through the Passport program.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Admission to the Bachelor of Commerce (Honours), including its Accounting, Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, International Business, Management, and Marketing concentrations, requires the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with six Grade 12 U or M courses. These must include 4U English, Advanced Functions, and either Calculus and Vectors or Mathematics of Data Management, with Calculus and Vectors preferred. Applicants who submit an English-language proficiency test may use it to also satisfy the 4U English prerequisite. Students do not choose a concentration until after first year, so all concentrations share this first-year entry standard. Advanced standing to second year or beyond normally requires an overall CGPA of 9.00 (B+) or higher. Direct entry to the co-op option additionally requires meeting the program's overall and prerequisite-course cut-off averages, full-time registration in the Honours program, and eligibility to work in Canada. Admission averages are set each year on a program-by-program basis and the minimum only establishes eligibility for consideration.
