Overview
This program leads to a Graduate Diploma in Health: Science, Technology and Policy, delivered on campus at Carleton University in Ottawa, with no weekend or online course delivery. Two related diplomas are offered: one for individuals currently employed or seeking employment in the health sector who are not registered in another Carleton graduate program, and another for students registered in other Carleton graduate programs seeking to add health-related coursework to their primary degree. Coursework addresses policy-related issues in the health field, combining qualitative and quantitative research methods, policy analysis, and knowledge mobilization as they apply to the health sector. The program responds to demand in the public health field for employees able to apply policy knowledge in the workplace. Ottawa's concentration of public-sector and non-government health organizations, including the Canadian Institute for Health Information, the Canadian Medical Association, Health Canada, and the Public Health Agency of Canada, supports networking and employment opportunities. Entry is offered in the Fall and Winter terms.

Admission Requirements: Applicants must have a bachelor's degree (or equivalent); normally an average of B+ or higher is required for admission. A university-level course in statistics is also required for admission. Applicants with at least three years of demonstrated, relevant work experience in a health-related professional field may qualify for admission via advanced entry.
