The Bachelor of Science (BSc) at Carleton University is a general science degree combining coursework with hands-on research experience. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission to the Bachelor of Science (Honours) requires the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses. For this group of Science programs the six courses must include Advanced Functions plus two of Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Sciences, or Physics; Calculus and Vectors is strongly recommended in addition. Applicants seeking admission beyond first year are assessed on their merits and must normally be Eligible to Continue in their year level, meeting the university's CGPA thresholds; advanced standing is granted only for subjects judged appropriate to the chosen program and stream. Direct entry to the co-op option additionally requires meeting the program's overall admission cut-off average and prerequisite-course average, full-time registration in the Honours program, and eligibility to work in Canada. The overall average required for admission is set each year on a program-by-program basis and may be considerably higher than these minimums.
