Au-delà de ce préalable, l'admission repose par ailleurs sur la base générale du Cégep : le diplôme d'études secondaires (DES) — la personne titulaire d'un DES qui n'a pas réussi la langue d'enseignement de 5e secondaire, la langue seconde de 5e secondaire, les mathématiques de 4e secondaire, la science et technologie de 4e secondaire ou l'histoire de 4e secondaire peut se voir imposer des cours de mise à niveau — ou le diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) complété par la langue d'enseignement de 5e secondaire, la langue seconde de 5e secondaire et les mathématiques de 4e secondaire.
