Offered by Cegep de Saint Hyacinthe in Saint-Hyacinthe, Canada, Diploma in Sciences humaines avec mathématiques supplémentaires is a diploma in Social Sciences & Education programme. The programme runs for 4 semesters. Teaching is in French. Tuition for international students is CAD 15,150 per year (CAD 3,740 per year for local students).
Sciences humaines, Profil Administration et économie, is a pre-university DEC built around the same personalized structure as the college's other Sciences humaines profiles: a first year covering foundational courses across seven social-science disciplines (anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science, psychology, and sociology), followed by a second year in which students deepen study in the areas that interest them most. The Administration et économie profile is aimed at students with an interest in business management, accounting, finance, talent management, marketing, law, leadership, governance, the role of the state in the economy, organizational dynamics, responsible-management issues, economics, international trade, and mathematics, with administration and economics as its main disciplines. As in the program's other profiles, students receive rigorous training in research methods to prepare for university-level work, delivered through collaborative classrooms and computer labs. Every other year, students can take part in a «Semaine des sciences humaines», and the program offers additional activities such as field courses abroad or within Quebec. It suits students aiming for university programs in business, economics, or related fields who want a social-science foundation with an administration and economics focus, including supplementary mathematics preparation.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission requires a Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES) with Secondary 5 Technical and Scientific (TS) or Natural Science (SN) mathematics, or Mathematics 526. As with all Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe programs, admission is processed through SRAM (admission.sram.qc.ca); a Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES) is the general entry basis. Applicants whose Secondary 5 written French mark was 65% or below and whose overall average was under 75% are placed in the upgrading course 601-013-HY before taking program-level French; a French-mastery test is required at application for those who did not take regular Secondary 5 French or who studied outside Quebec, and applicants from outside Quebec whose mother tongue is not French must submit an approved international French test (the Cégep recommends Bright) with their SRAM file. Every admitted student also sits an English placement test that sets their starting English course level.
