Specialized Education Techniques (351.A1) is a three-year, six-session Diploma of College Studies (DEC) offered at Cegep de Sainte-Foy, with intake in the Fall term only. The program prepares students to intervene with individuals facing adaptation difficulties across physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and behavioural dimensions, developing clinical intervention tools and activity plans tailored to client needs. Coursework covers assessment, intervention planning, and support techniques for clients across the lifespan, from children and adolescents to adults and seniors. Graduates work as specialized educators, community workers, and street workers within the CIUSSS and CISSS health and social-services network, school service centres, community organizations, private facilities, and daycare centres, where demand for specialized educators is described as high. The program combines coursework with field placements that let students apply intervention techniques in real practice settings before graduation.
