Overview
Arts, lettres et communication est un DEC préuniversitaire du Cégep du Vieux Montréal offert selon trois options; l'option Langues est présentée ici. Le tronc commun du programme vise à nourrir la curiosité et la créativité de la clientèle étudiante, à développer l'esprit critique ainsi que la capacité de réflexion et d'analyse, et à bâtir une solide culture générale, avec un accompagnement constant d'un corps enseignant expérimenté. L'option Langues se distingue par une structure suivant quatre cours dans chacune de quatre langues, soit l'espagnol, l'anglais, le français et l'allemand, offrant ainsi une formation linguistique plus étendue que les deux autres options du programme. Le programme indique que, quelle que soit l'option choisie au Cégep, la formation donne accès à de nombreux programmes universitaires tels que la communication, le droit, l'enseignement, les études littéraires, le journalisme, la traduction ou le commerce international. Admission Requirements: Cégep du Vieux Montréal's admission page for the Langues option of Arts, lettres et communication points to the college's general admission conditions and adds one particular condition: applicants who already have knowledge of English or Spanish must sit a mandatory placement test to be streamed into the appropriate language level. Domestic applicants otherwise need a Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES) or equivalent and apply through the SRAM portal (admission.sram.qc.ca). Applicants who were not schooled in French in Quebec must pass the college's own French-proficiency test (oral and written comprehension, grammar, composition); no minimum score is published.
