Overview
Cinéma et télévision (589.C0) is a three-year DEC offered jointly by Cégep du Vieux Montréal and Cégep de Jonquière: students complete the first year at Cégep du Vieux Montréal and the second and third years at Cégep de Jonquière, where specialized production facilities and faculty are based. The program trains students in the full production and post-production process for film and television, covering camera operation, lighting, sound design, editing, visual effects, project coordination, and live broadcasting. Instruction is entirely practice-based, using filming sets, TV and sound studios, editing rooms, and visual-effects production labs. The final session includes a five-week, 170-hour workplace internship. Graduates receive a Diplôme d'études collégiales (DEC) and are prepared to enter the film and television industry in technical and coordination roles.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission is processed through the Service régional d'admission du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean (SRASL): applicants apply by selecting the Cinéma et télévision program at Cégep de Jonquière, since the second and third years of the program are delivered there. No secondary-school subject prerequisites specific to this program are stated on the program's admission page. Applicants whose file receives an initial refusal may submit a supplementary portfolio consisting of a curriculum vitae and a two-minute video explaining why they should be admitted.
