Overview
Tremplin DEC is a transitional pathway at Cégep régional de Lanaudière for students who are not yet ready to commit to a full pre-university or technical DEC program. Unlike a Diplôme d'études collégiales, it does not lead to a diploma; instead it lets students take general-education coursework alongside either exploratory courses drawn from various programs or levelling courses in mathematics, chemistry, physics or environmental science needed to meet a program's admission prerequisites. Students may remain in the pathway for a maximum of three consecutive sessions, offered in fall and winter, at the college's L'Assomption, Joliette and Terrebonne campuses. An orientation workshop, delivered over several weeks with a guidance counsellor, helps students clarify their program choice, and academic-success and career-orientation support is available throughout. The pathway suits recent secondary graduates who were not admitted to their first-choice program, students who need to complete missing prerequisite courses, and those who want to explore different fields before choosing a DEC program, as well as students waiting for their preferred program's next intake.

Admission Requirements: Admission follows Cégep régional de Lanaudière's general admission requirements: a Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES) or a Diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) that includes langue d'enseignement de 5e secondaire, langue seconde de 5e secondaire and mathématiques de 4e secondaire, or training and experience the college judges equivalent, applied for online through admission.sram.qc.ca (CAD 30 fee). Tremplin DEC itself asks applicants to choose one of two options on the SRAM application: Orientation/exploration, open with the general conditions alone, or Mise à niveau/mathématiques de 5e secondaire, which requires Mathématiques TS, SN or 436 from 4e secondaire. The pathway is offered at both the Fall and Winter intakes, and a student may remain enrolled in Tremplin DEC for a maximum of three consecutive sessions before moving into a regular program.

Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through the Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain (SRAM) for whichever of the cégep's three campuses they choose: for Fall 2027 entry the round-one deadline is 1 March 2027, with the system opening mid-January 2027 and later rounds running into May while places remain; Winter 2027 entry is already open, with a round-one deadline of 1 November 2026. International applicants follow a separate SRAM timeline: applications for Fall 2027 opened 15 March 2026 and close 14 March 2027, while Winter 2028 applications open 1 June 2026 and close 31 May 2027. Admission is not open-ended rolling, but SRAM runs successive rounds for as long as places remain. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
