Program details

Overview

Techniques de physiothérapie is a technical DEC that trains students in physical rehabilitation for people affected by musculoskeletal, articular, or neurological conditions that limit functional capacity. Coursework builds the ability to analyze and assess a patient's condition in order to identify appropriate therapeutic approaches, with the goal of optimizing the rehabilitation process. The program at Cégep Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu focuses particularly on intervention with adult orthopedic and geriatric clientele, grounding practice in evidence-based methods and developing complex manual-therapy skills alongside a range of treatment techniques. The page frames the credential as preparation for delivering quality treatment through hands-on clinical skill-building rather than classroom study alone. As with other technical programs at the college, students also complete general-education coursework in areas such as language, philosophy, and physical education alongside their specialized physiotherapy courses. It suits students interested in physical rehabilitation and hands-on patient care who want a technical-level health credential focused on musculoskeletal and neurological conditions in adult and elderly populations, as a pathway toward work as a physiotherapy technologist.
