Overview
Administration des réseaux et sécurité informatique is an AEC (Attestation d'études collégiales) programme that trains students to design, administer, and secure complex computer network infrastructure. Coursework covers structured cabling and fibre optics, local area network hardware components, the OSI and TCP/IP models, Windows operating systems, algorithmic programming, router and switch configuration, virtual LANs, static and default routing, and network traffic-control and security software. The programme is delivered in hybrid format (in-person and remote), full-time, over 1,320 hours (17 months), in collaboration with Collège Lionel-Groulx, based at the Brossard campus with daytime scheduling. A personal computer meeting minimum specifications (Windows 11 Pro, quad-core processor, 16 GB RAM, SSD/NVMe storage, webcam, microphone, high-speed internet) is required for the hybrid components. Graduates are prepared for roles such as network or systems administrator, IT security analyst, and technical support coordinator across IT firms, finance, public administration, and telecommunications.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Administration des réseaux et sécurité informatique (AEC). Applicants must hold a Diplôme d'études secondaires (DES), a Diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP), an Attestation d'équivalence de niveau secondaire (AENS), or equivalent secondary-level training supplemented by relevant academic, extracurricular, or experiential learning. Applicants must also meet one of: an interruption of full-time studies, at least two consecutive sessions or one year of full-time postsecondary study, an agreement between the Cégep and an employer or a government programme, or holding a DEP. Applicants whose mother tongue or prior instruction was not French must pass a written French test. Admission is processed through the SRAM and requires attending a mandatory information session. Candidates who studied outside Québec may apply with a comparative secondary-education evaluation.
