Overview
Tremplin DEC – Volet Enrichissement is an out-of-program pathway at Cégep Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu for students who need additional academic support before entering a regular program, typically because their high-school average fell below 65%. Students in this stream take the mandatory Stratégies d'apprentissage course, which builds the study strategies, attitudes, and motivation needed to succeed later in a chosen DEC program; the page notes this course is required when a student's general average is under 70%. A session includes four to six courses in total: the Stratégies d'apprentissage course, three or four general-education courses (English, physical education, French, philosophy), upgrading courses in mathematics, chemistry, or physics where needed, and up to two exploratory courses drawn from a program of interest. Rather than leading to its own diploma, the stream lets students strengthen foundational skills and explore program options while remaining enrolled at the college. It suits students transitioning from secondary school who are missing prerequisites or need a lighter, more supported course load before committing to a specific technical or pre-university DEC program.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: The programme's own page lists no secondary-school course prerequisites; it states only that this stream is intended for students who have experienced academic difficulty and whose overall secondary average is below 65%, functioning as a transition year rather than a standard DEC entry. Québec and Canadian applicants apply exclusively through the Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain (SRAM, admission.sram.qc.ca); for fall entry the first round closes March 1 (with possible second and third rounds), and for winter entry the first round closes November 1. International applicants must show the equivalent of eleven completed years of schooling, evaluated by the Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration (MIFI) or by SRAM; the Cégep recommends the Bright test at level C1 (at least 4.0 on the CEFR scale), filed in the SRAM dossier. Applications go through SRAM's international-candidates section with card payment online; for fall entry the window opens March 15 of the prior year and closes March 14, and for winter entry it opens June 1 two years before and closes May 31 one year before. The Cégep typically replies three to eight weeks after a complete file is submitted.
Application Details
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through SRAM: for Fall 2027 entry the first-round deadline is 1 March 2027, with second and third rounds assessed while seats remain; for Winter 2027 entry SRAM opens 15 September 2026 with a first-round deadline of 1 November 2026. International applicants also apply through SRAM: the Fall 2027 file-completion deadline is 14 March 2027 (window opened 15 March 2026); the Winter international window for Winter 2027 entry already closed 31 May 2026, so the current one is for Winter 2028 entry, opening 1 June 2026 and closing 31 May 2027. Techniques de physiothérapie does not admit international students. Admission is not rolling beyond these SRAM rounds. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
