Overview

Centennial College’s Electrical Programs prepare students for careers in the electrical and energy sectors through hands-on training, applied theory, and industry-relevant curriculum. Programs include Electrical Techniques (certificate), Electrical Engineering Technician (diploma), and Electrical Engineering Technology (advanced diploma with optional Co-op). Students develop practical skills in electrical circuits, power distribution, electrical installations, industrial automation, motor controls, and electrical system design through extensive laboratory work and real-world projects. Graduates learn to install, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and commission electrical systems while ensuring compliance with relevant codes and safety standards. These programs emphasize applied learning through labs, simulations, and industry-based projects, preparing graduates for roles in construction, manufacturing, utilities, energy, telecommunications, and building systems industries. Please note: Some courses may be offered in an online/hybrid format. In keeping with Ministry and the Ontario College of Trades standards, the program will deliver content that meets the requirements for Level 1 and Level 2 in-school Electrician apprenticeship (309A/442A) training.
